Peter Dow opened the Cafe Juanita restaurant in 1979. The same year he tried his hand at home winemaking. In 1984 he bonded the winery. Until the 1990's, his wines were available only at the restaurant, however they can now be found in some of Seattle's better wine specialty shops.
In late 1999 or early 2000, he has sold the restaurant. I believe he is continuing to make Cavatappi wines -- they are still available at the resataurant.
