FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

East Wenatchee WA--- Fielding Hills Winery, located in East Wenatchee, WA, rates a “91- Outstanding” from Wine Spectator for its Cabernet Sauvignon in first year of commercial production reports owner Mike Wade. The prestigious wine publication rating of Cabernets from California, Washington and South Africa appeared in Wine Spectator Weekly an internet release and will appear in the magazine’s October 2002 issue.

Co-owner and winemaker Mike Wade said, “We are very excited about the rating, especially in our first year.  Creating truly premiums reds wines is our primary goal and this recognition from of wine experts confirms that our efforts have created a wine that truly excels”.

The Wine Spectator rating reads “Ripe, rich and spicy, with coffee and olive overtones to the dense core of black cherry and blackberry fruit, all of which echoes beautifully on the plump finish.  Drink now through 2010.”

Fielding Hills Winery is co-owned by Mike and Karen Wade and produced three quality wines in the 2000 production, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot and Red Table wine, a blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes. The 2000 harvest and crush plan was to produce 1,200 gallons of wine which resulted in approximately 400 cases of wine which was introduced to the public July 2002.   They produce their wine with the help of family and friends.  They use only time honored small lot winemaking methods, combined with only the finest ingredients grown and hand harvested at their affiliated vineyards in Mattawa, WA.

“Our passion is to produce premium red wines. Not just the best possible, but ones that will truly stand up to the ultra premium wines made today. Key to this success will be growing world class grapes and Mattawa appears to be a stellar location” said Wade.   Many wineries in Washington State are finding their best red wines coming from grapes in this region.

The winery name comes from Mike Wade’s grandfather, Isham Fielding Wade who was a pioneer orchardist in the Wenatchee Valley.  For more information visit www.fieldinghills.com.
