The mechanism a combination of a 1960's rotary slide tray and a rolodex file -- cardboard cards with a transparent photo positive in them are attached to a ring in the center, and as the crank is turned (not visible on right side of machine) the cards flip past the eyepiece giving the impression of a movie. These two machines happen to contain typical early fare -- a "peep" show -- quite tame by today's TV standards.
