We'll then extinguish the lamp and get into a cholesterol enhancing meal complete with appropriate libations. We'll gear down with a salad course, followed by a cheese and port and dessert courses, and of course, a big fat stogy and some lively conversation to go with it all. I guarantee: you'll never find a better way to fritter away an Indian Summer evening. If this sounds like your bag, please call us at 800-727-6702 or fill out the reservation form at the bottom of this newsletter The Great Prosser Balloon Rally- will be Friday-Sunday, Sept. 26-28. The early morning sky of Prosser will be filled with a plethora of colorful balloons all three days and on Saturday night, the Prosser Stadium will be the scene of NightGlow- a not-to-be-missed lighting up of balloons. Ever wanted to take a balloon ride? Mail or e-mail (balloons@hinzerling.com) your name and a daytime phone number before Thursday, 9/25 and we'll put your name in the hat for a drawing for a balloon ride for two on the morning of 9/27-weather permitting. Harvest Party- our annual romp among the vines and your chance to live the glamorous life of a grape picker for just one day, will be Saturday, Oct. 4.What happens at a harvest party? We meet at the winery between 9 and 10 a.m. for some coffee and a nosh. Then, it's a day in the vineyard picking grapes, eating a sumptuous lunch with some really good matching wines, crushing back at the winery and communing with nature and some like minded folks. You'll take home some great memories, a stiff muscle or two and, I guarantee you'll never look at a glass of wine quite the same way again. That evening beginning at 6 p. m., we'll also have our Annual Harvest Dinner and Library Tasting- a special meal designed around some great old wines, our garden, and our special suppliers and farmers market. If any of this sounds like fun, then Mark Twain was right, and you'll need to fill out the reservation form in this newsletter or call us with the requisite information. We'll provide you with all the gory details. The Vintner's Inn- We've had a very good second year at the Inn: a listing in Best Places, recipes featured in Best Places Cookbook, winning the MerlotFest dessert competition, and lots of nice write-ups in local and national publications have all been gratifying. Based on advance bookings, it looks like things will continue to be good for a while. If you haven't' had a chance to see the Inn or have dinner with us, please call for reservations, and mention this newsletter for a 15% discount on dinner any Friday or a stay at the Inn Sunday through Thursday. Dining is prise fixe, single menu, Friday and Saturday with reservation only boarding house style, seating at 6 p.m.- call for current menu. Or see www.hinzerling.com for more info.
