The Wines: (Spring 1996)
Whites: Chablis: A full-flavored fairly dry white wine that will please the palate of all dry white wine lovers. Moselle: A nice, light, fruity wine like those typical of the Mosel River area of Germany with a hint of sweetness. White Riesling: A full-bodied Riesling that is medium-dry and smooth. A popular wine with any dish. Light golden in the German tradition. White Riesling Select Harvest: This wine is made from the grapes selected especially for their ripenaess. it is golden in color and slightly sweet, best by itself or after dinner. A true "Auslese" in the German tradition. Chardonnay: A full-bodied dry wine from the classic Pinot Chardonnay grape.
Reds: Burgundy: A full-bodied, smooth, medium-dry wine. A typical Burgundy of superlative character. Cabernet Sauvignon: A full-bodied dry red wine with fruity flavor to complement roasts and steaks. Burgundy Select Harvest: A splendid treat. Made from very ripe grapes, this full-bodied deep red wine with a touch of sweetness. The only only one of its kind in the U.S.A.
Other: Angelica: A golden red, sweet wine made famous in many churches as an alter wine. Cream Sherry: A smooth golden sweet sherry. Very drinkable. Just right for dessert. Port: A rich, deep ruby colored sweet port, good at any time.
