MikeL's Guide to WA Wineries
Restaurants - Woodinville
The following restaurants have been recommended by other visitors to
this website. Please send me email
(send email to mikel) with your
restaurant recommendations and a few comments about them for this area.
- The Golden Goat
Mike Lempriere:
Excellent Italian fare, with an extensive wine list, specializing in
Italian and Northwest wines. The closest decent restaurant to the
Woodinville wineries.
- Italianisimo, Woodinville
George Shaw: Ask for secondary wine list, no corking
fee if you bring your own special bottle, some outside tables in summer.
- Willows Lodge/HerbFarm, Woodinville
Mike Lempriere:
This was originally The
Herbfarm in Fall City. At
that time it was very expensive, formal, dinner only, reservations
months in advance (required), yet an unforgettable experience --
absolutely worthwhile, even if only affordable once in a lifetime.
The Fall City location was closed due to fire Dec-96. In late 1998
they began serving those wonderful meals at the
Hedges Cellars tasting room in Issaquah.
As of Sep-2000, they will open in a new facility in Woodinville.
At the Fall City location there is an incredible garden/nursery
specializing herbs and edibles you'd be amazed at -- open to public
during the day, and a wonderful visit (see HerbFarm link above).
(Summer 2002) They've reopened in Woodinville smack in the middle of
wine country, next to Red Hook Brewery and a stones throw from
Chateau Ste. Michelle and
Columbia Winery. It's a full out
lodge and restaurant now, quite awe inspiring. Details at
http://www.willowslodge.com/.
- The Purple Cafe, Woodinville
Matt Hornsby: If it is a great wine list and
excellent food that you are looking for, you should definitely try the
Purple Cafe, a few lots down from the Golden Goat. Definitely one of my
favorite restaurants.
