Production: (1996) 4000 cases/year Vineyards: none Distribution: U.S., Canada History: Casey McClellan cultivated his interest in wine while working at the Seven Hills Vineyard in the early 1980's. He went on to earn his master's degree from the University of California at Davis, specializing in the study of wine yeast performance. While in California, he worked at Preston Vineyards in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley. After completing the degree program at Davis, he obtained a position in association with the Port wine industry in Porto, Portugal. In 1988, Casey returned to the Walla Walla Valley for the winemaker position at Seven Hills Winery. The winery was established in 1988 by a closely held company owned by families with long traditions in the Walla Walla Valley. In 1989 the winery was moved to it's current facility in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. The Wines: Current releases (Winter 1997) They have many rave reviews for the wines, and detailed tasting and technical info; as they have their own official website (link near top of page), I'll leave the detailed tasting notes to them. Winemakers: Casey McClellan Casey McClellan 1988-present Of special note: At Seven Hills, the winemaking process is a customized, hand-crafted approach that follows the grape from vineyard, through fermentation, ageing and bottling, into the marketplace. Our central focus is dedication to providing a memorable wine drinking experience. Limited production may make our wine more difficult to find but always worth the search. Upcoming Events (1997)...
