Sheridan Vineyard 2000 Red Wine
Dear Mike,
Greetings from Sheridan Vineyard. We are excited to bring you good news on two fronts. First, we are releasing our 2000 Red Wine a blend of seventy percent Cabernet Sauvignon, fifteen percent Cabernet Franc, and fifteen percent Merlot. Second, we are building a new winery in Zillah which should be completed this fall in time for crush (Yeah!).
2000 Red Wine
Aged twenty-one months in French oak barrels: Forty-five percent new and fifty-five percent two-year-old. Yields were kept to one ton per acre. As you may know, we feel the vineyard is unique and has its own special "expression of place." At first taste, the wine reveals concentrated rich fruit. The mid-palate offers a lush mouth-feel with layers of cassis, cocoa, and spice. The fruit slowly gives way to a complex and lasting finish. This wine will continue to evolve and gain complexity as it ages. We are very proud of what we have achieved with such a young vineyard.
The new winery is currently under construction and will allow us to increase production from 730 cases with the 2000 vintage to 2,500 cases for the 2003 vintage. As building progresses we will send out more details including an invitation to the grand opening (a party not to be missed).
