Invitation to walla Walla Vintners' Fall 1997 Wine release & Barrel Tasting You are invited to attend our Fall Wine Release for tasting and sales on Decmber 6 & 7, 1997. The winery will be open from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Walla Walla Vintners -- bonded in 1995 -- is holding its second wine release featuring two limited, premier 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon. Myles Andesron, Alan Jones, andGordon Venneri, the winemakers and owners, are completing their third commercial crush of handcrafted, premium red wines -- Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. These wines are cellared in small select oak barrels and aged in bottle before release. We are still recovering from the excitement of the sellout of the 1995 Cabernet Franc and Merlot released in May 1997. The winery is located off of Mill Creek Road near the Blue Mountains. The winery is open for tasting and sales two weekends each year -- Spring and Fall. To reach the winery from US 12, take the Rooks Park exit. The winery is located 3.2 miles east from Isaac AAvenue on Mill Creek Road in Walla Walla. We will showcase: 1995 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon The wine is a blend of two Columbia Valley vineyards: Canoe Ridge and Windrow. The final mix was topped off with 105 of blended cabernet franc and merlot from Canoe Ridge, Hogue Cellars and Spring Valley Vineyards. Its ruby color and blackberry noe is striking. It contains lots of fruit with blueberry edges. We discover mint, tobacco, and espresso with a fresh fig finish. it is smooth and presents itself well now but bottle age will develop these flavors. This is a great wine value! $20.00 per 750 ml bottle -- $240.00 per case, 165 cases made -- 1.5 liter bottle is $45.00. 1995 Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon The Cabernet Sauvignon for this blend came from Canoe Ridge, Portteus, Windrow Vineyards. Ten percent of the final blend included Cabernet Franc from hogue Cellars and Merlot from Canoe Ridge and Spring Valley vineyards. This wine has an Italian prune color with a vanilla and mint nose. It has concentrated berry flavors with a punch of raspberry, followed by Porcini mushrooms and anise. It finishes with a dash of spice and coconut. This is a keeper! It is dazzling now but will be better with cellaring. $22.00 per 750 ml bottle -- $263.00 per case. 165 cases were made -- 1.5 liter bottle is $50.00. Note for advance orders Our mailing list is growing and contains more people than we have cases of wine to sell. Thus, we are limiting the sale of both wines to one case of each Cabernet per customer. Advance orders for these two wines can be made by completing the order form on the back. Wine orders will be handled in the order they are received. Orders can also be picked up on December 6 & 7, 1997. Full case, one-half case, or 1.5 liter bottle orders can be shipped ups.
