Ellis Lempriere -- In the boarding room
Our three ID tags. Nowadays all hospitals are rather paranoid about
people stealing babies, and about "switched baby" lawsuits. Within
minutes of birth, before a baby is ever taken from the birthing room,
they put a wrist tag on him. Both Mom and Dad also get matching tags.
Nobody leaves carries a baby around that floor of the hospital without
a matching tag, or GHC badge. (Yes, I've gone through a work-week
with the silly thing on just to hold him for a minutes each
evening -- but I'm glad they do it.)
