History:
Lou learned the art of winemaking from his grandfather while growing up in Santa Cruz, CA. In 1973, Lou brought his family to Idaho looking for a simpler, more rustic life. With no formal training, he demonstrated a natural talent for hand-crafting beautifully well-balanced wines from Northwest grapes. Lou had a successful career operating Louis Facelli Winery in Wilder, ID from 1981 to 1986, then sold his interest in the business and entered the Washington wine arena. After showcasing his talents while working for Salmon Bay Winery (Winemaker 1986-1987) and Haviland Winery (Winemaker 1987-1988), Lou started Facelli Winery (1988), located in Redmond, WA. In 1990 he moved the winery to its present location in Woodinville. Early 1995 brought the acquisition of several out-of-state distributors, a booming mailing list and state-of-the-art cellar equipment.

Of special note:
Like a master artist with a blank canvas, Lou works his magic. Vintage after vintage, his wines repeatedly win praise and admiration for their superb style, quality and value. A recent expansion has allowed the winery to increase production and distribution of their exquisitely crafted wines. Emphasis continues to be on the following hand-picked and hand-sorted varietals: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Fume Blanc. Facelli Winery is continuing to grow and prosper. With a new label and new operations, the future is as promising as ever. Facelli Winery will soon be the most well-known secret sensation in Washington State.
