Of special note:
Oakwood Cellars Winery is located in one of the best growing locales in Washington State. The winery, situated near the foot of Red Mountain, is about 2 miles east of Benton City and deeply nestled in a picturesque sweep of the Yakima River. The winery location was selected becaues of it's close proximity to the vineyards of Red Mountain, which produces the majority of Washington State's award winning wines.

Oakwood Cellars was founded in 1986 and is dedicated to producing only high quality premium wines. The process begins with the best premium grapes available for each varietal wine. Close, daily coordination with the vineyard personnel provide the optimum harvest. When the grape acids, flavor and sugar level reach our high quality specifications, the grapes are harvested. Then starts the process of "handcrafting" great wines. Every step is meticulously performed with only one goal in mind - QUALITY! Many of Oakwood Cellars wines such as the barrel fermented Chardonnay are of the Burgundian "old school" method. Although labor-intensive and time consuming, we believe these winemaking techniques produce great wines. The judges also agree. Oakwood Cellars wines competed against hundreds of wines and have won medals in every varietal catagory. This is what we strive for at Oakwood.
